MNDF conducts its monthly event under the theme “Enhancing faith and patriotism
MNDF held its monthly event under the theme “Enhancing faith and patriotism” last evening. The guest speaker at the latest edition in this series was the Director of the Center for Holy Quran Sheikh Abdul Azeez Hussain.
Sheikh’s speech at the gathering was based on the importance of the Ramadan and striving hard to acquire the full reward of the coming Holy Month. In his lecture, highlighting on the actions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions to prepare for the month of Ramadan he said that they used to be more involved in worshiping during the month of Sha’ban, the month before Ramadan and they used to fast more in this month in order to prepare for the Ramadan.
Speaking in the light of Sunnah, he said that the Prophet Mohamed, peace be upon him, urged the Ummah to increase their worship during the month of Ramadan. Sheikh also said that before Ramadan begins, God opens the door of Paradise for those who fast and refrain from forbidden activities, keep the Gates of Hell closed and the Shaitan is kept locked.
Speaking further he said that Ramadan is the month in which we get the opportunity where the worship we do during this month could be equivalent to the worship of 1000 months. He also urged the gathering not to waste their prime young age but to spend it worshiping.
Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed, General Officers, Officers, retired service members, a large number of soldiers and some of their family members attended the gathering.
