Adhaalath Party always faces challenges bravely- Adhaalath
Adhaalath Party has stated that they always face challenges bravely and they have overcome all challenges so far by Allah’s grace.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, President of the Adhaalath Party Sheikh Imran Abdullah said that the party has faced various challenges since it was first registered up until this day. He said that the religious scholars of the party had to face different types of harassments from the former regimes and they were slandered and depicted as extremists and terrorists in the international community.
Sheikh Imran said that during the phase of the review of the bill of the political parties many of leaders of the political parties assured that the minimum number of members for a party to be registered will be determined as 5000 and there will be no harm to the Adhaalath Party but however later on things went onto a different direction.
Sheikh Imran said that Adhaalath Party will continue their efforts to foster Islamic awareness in the country no matter how much a people is trying to erase the party from existence. He said that Adhaalath Party will not stop these efforts in cowardice just because the party is facing these challenges.
In addition to this Sheikh Imran said that the state should allocate the budget for political parties not based on the number of members but by weighing the efforts and services of the party for the nation and the people.
“A party may have many members but have nothing done for the society. So do we give them money just because they have many members? This is not something that the Adhaalath Party believes in,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Peoples’ Majlis on Thursday passed a bill that requires political parties to have a minimum of 10,000 registered members.
