Police reveals the investigation details of Bangladeshi laborer’s murder case 


Police has taken two suspects under custody, regarding the murder of Moneerul Islam (27 years) of Bangladesh, who was stabbed to death at 6th floor of No. 24, Chandhani Magu on 26th November 2012.

The suspect who is convicted of involving in the crime is Kamrul Islam (23 years) of Bangladesh. He was arrested in Alif Dhaal Atoll Dhangethi. The other person suspected of associated in the crime is Abdulla (34 years) of Bangladesh. He was arrested in Male’.

During a press briefing at Iskandharu Koshi yesterday, Head of Serious and Organized Crime Department, Chief Inspector of Police Mohamed Dauood revealed that suspect Kamrul Islam who executed the crime is a close acquaintance of the victim and suspect Abdulla who associated in the crime is a family relative of the suspect. Police also said they have found that one suspect was involved in executing the crime and they have found the tool used to murder Moneerul Islam and clothes the suspect wore at the time of the crime, dumped at the T-Jetty lagoon area.

Furthermore, Chief Inspector of Police Dauood affirmed that Kamrul Islam has admitted the crime during the investigation and testified how it was planned. Kamrul has verified to police that he was awarded money and job security by Abdulla to carry out the crime. Police also found that the victim had financial issues with family.

Moneerul Islam was found dead in his apartment at 6th floor of No. 24, Chaandhani Magu on 26th November 2012 by his coworkers at Eon Company. He was an office boy at Eon Company when he was murdered.
