Ministry of Environment signs agreement for procurement of solid waste disposal equipment

Ministry of Environment and Energy had signed an agreement with Biz4Maldives Pvt. Ltd today for the procurement of solid waste disposal equipment (can crushers and chipper) under assistance from Asian Development Bank (ADB). The contract amount is worth of MRF 1,009,179.36. (One Million Nine Thousand One Hundred and Seventy Nine Maldivian Rufiyaa and Thirty Six Laari).

The waste management project is implemented under Environmental Infrastructure and Management Project (RDP II) with assistance from Asian Development Bank (ADB), which aims to improve infrastructure, strengthen planning and environmental management, and build management and implantation capacity in regional islands.

Minister of State for Environment and Energy, Abdul Matheen Mohamed signed the contract on behalf of the Government. Ibrahim Nashid, Managing Director from Biz4Maldived Pvt. Ltd signed on behalf of the Company, in a ceremony held at Ministry of Environment and Energy.

The period of completion is assigned for 02 months from the issue of letter of acceptance.
