Despite Nasheed’s concerns, Islamic values will prevail in the Maldives: Imran

President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdullah has said that the Islamic moral values and principles will prevail in the Maldives despite the concerns of the former President Mohamed Nasheed.

Sheikh Imran said that the former President Nasheed will be now convinced that no matter how hard he tried to propagate irreligiousness in the Maldives it will not be met with any support from the people.

“Nasheed might be ignorant of the fact that it is political activities based on the beautiful morality of Islam which will be prevalent in Maldives. But the Adhaalath Party have known it since a very long time. So there is a future for the Adhaalath Party. We have the opportunity. And Allah willing, Adhaalath Party will move forward,” Sheikh Imran said.

In addition to this Sheikh Imran said that an Islamic government will be established in the country in the future.

Furthermore, Sheikh Imran said that Nasheed is very worried about this reality. He said that Nasheed desperate attempts will all be failure and his plots will be foiled. He said that it is for this reason that Nasheed is accusing Adhaalath Party of being an Islamic extremist radical party.

“Today Nasheed has exposed the reality of what we have been telling the people about him. He has exposed himself that he is indeed an anti-Islamic bigot. He has admitted that he changed the school curriculum to make it not so Islamic and proposed a new penal code less dependent on Islamic Sharia law,” he said.

Meanwhile, during his visit to India, Nasheed said that the Adhaalath party performed poorly in the presidential race and won no seats in subsequent parliamentary elections.

“But after the coup, they have three portfolios in the cabinet, they are calling the shots in the military, and they are consolidating their position,” Nasheed said.

Moreover, Nasheed said that his government did so much to make the Maldives more liberal.
