Minister of Foreign Affairs meets his Palestinian Counterpart
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah meets his Palestinian counterpart. Dr. Riyad al-Maliki in Kurumba Maldives yesterday. The Palestinian Foreign Minister is in the Maldives accompanying Palestinian President Dr. Mahmoud Abbas on his state visit.
During the meeting held at Kurumba Maldives both the Ministers discussed ways to strengthen the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and the State of Palestine. Speaking at the meeting Dr. Al-Maliki said that they would like to have a diplomatic presence in the Maldives and to introduce investment opportunities in the Maldives for Arab nations.
In addition to that both Ministers discussed about Palestine providing technical expertise in the field of health, agriculture, media and education to the Maldives. Dr. Al-Maliki invited Minister Samad to visit Palestine at a convenient time to the Minister.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hassan Saeed Hussain, Foreign Secretary Mohamed Naseer, Ambassador of the State of Palestine Dr. Anwar Al Agha and Additional Secretary Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.
