President Waheed meets the people of Isdhoo-Kalaidhoo and Dhan’bidhoo


President Mohamed Waheed has said that the Maldives being a homogenous country with one religion, language and ethnicity, the discord and division that exists among the people was damaging for the whole country.

The President made this statement today while addressing the people of Isdhoo-Kalaidhoo, as part of his current visit to Laamu Atoll.

Reaffirming that he would treat everyone equally and justly, President Waheed said that he was currently in discussions with all the political parties, including the MDP.

He further reiterated his commitment to uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of the people. He said that he would put in every effort to restore peace and harmony in the country.

In his speech, the President also said that the government aimed at working closely with the people, and that the government was always at the service of the people.

As part of his current tour to Laamu atoll, the President also visited Dhan’bidhoo and met with the people of the island.

Addressing the people of the island, the President reiterated the government’s commitment to treat all citizens equally and justly, regardless of their political affiliations. He also assured that the government would continue to provide all necessary public services for the people without any disruption

In his speech, the President also spoke on the government’s health sector reform scheme. He said the government was working to improve Aa Sandha, the health insurance programme of the government, as part of the health sector reform scheme.
