Defence Minister Meets Indian defence minister
Minister of Defence and National Security honorable Tholhath Ibrahim has paid a courtesy call on Indian Defence Minister Mr.AK Antony during his visit to India.
At the meeting, discussions were held on ways of expanding defence cooperation between the two countries. Furthermore, the two defence minister discussed on the preparations for the upcoming SAARC summit.
Maldivian Defence Minister Thalhath Ibrahim Kaleyfaanu was given a guard of honor at the start of his five-day official visit to India. He also paid a tribute to the Indian fallen soldiers at India Gate defense.
Following the visit, the chiefs of armed forces of India paid a visit to Defence minister. During his visit, discussions were held on the joint bilateral exercises between the two militaries. Defence minister has also visited the Indian Defence College and delivered a lecture to the 51st course on the challenges and issues of the regional security.
A banquet was held with the high commissioner Abdul Azeez Yousuf and visiting delegation Vice chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Fahath Shaheer, Acting Director General of Directortae of International Defence Corporation Colonel Mohamed Ziyadh, Defence Attaché Colonel Ali Zuhair and principal Director of Coast Guard Lieutenant Colonel Ismail Shareef.
