New generation airport lounge unveiled at INIA
A new generation of airport lounges has been unveiled at Ibrahim Nasir Internation Airport (INIA) yesterday.
Andrew Harrison, Chief Executive Officer of INIA, said that "Maldives caters to the high-end travelers as customers, and Maldives one of the revenue generators is traveler experience hence we have to cater to them or risk losing them to other exotic destinations that go beyond the expectations of the traveler.”
In a press release of the managing company of the airport, GMR International said that the with the opening of the Plaza Premium Lounges, while most travelers recognize the need to undergo more thorough security checks, the need to arrive several hours early, can create a well relaxed travelers schedule at the INIA.
“To make up for precious time the premium lounges are as relaxing as their holidays were. Better equipped to provide improved business services as well. Fully reclining massage chairs, sleep or snooze pods, manicures and pedicure services, hydrotherapy showers, reflexology treatments and specially designed pre- and post-flight massages and to step up their game, full-fledged spas, private nap rooms, and meals catered by in house chefs, the lounges have become less of a place to kill time and more of a place to linger,” GMR said.
GMR said that the needs of the modern leisure traveller have been taken to as their first priority at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport and that it is because of this that lounges were created with the very latest facilities, and a calming environment offering sweeping views of the clear blue waters, and the pristine sandy shores.
The company said that the travelers will leave the destination feeling relaxed, refreshed and with a lasting experience.
The Plaza Premium Lounges are the world's first "Pay-In Lounge" open to all classes of travellers.
“In Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Plaza will operate two international lounges occupying a total space of 660 sq.m. providing over 176 seats totally.This includes an exclusive reserved area of 33 seats for First Class passengers. Both these are strategically located in the International departure area close to the boarding gates. As Andrew Harrison states “we provide all passengers world class lounge services and facilities Including hot meal buffet & beverages, Internet access, international newspapers and magazines, international TV channels, music enjoyment, comfortable seating area, and a special a relaxation area with 180 degree reclining chairs,” the press release said.
According to the company the local and international buffet fare is freshly prepared by in-house chefs.
