China has requested to operate Casino in Maldives
Chairman of Yacht Tours, Abdullah Jabir has said that he has so far not considered on opening a casino in Maldives.
Repelling some of the allegations made by some opposition parties, Jabir told Miadhu Daily that the government is responsible for permitting different business ventures for the development of the tourism industry. He said that “pork and alcoholic beverages are sold in the resorts to foreign tourists, so it is the government that concludes whether to permit the opening of casinos or not.”
“We are businessmen. And we do business. But we do it in the boundaries set by the country. If I feel like opening a casino I would do it in a country which it is permitted. And I would do other businesses too,” he said.
Jabir said that those who accuse him of opening casinos for gambling are who are envious of him and his success. He said that they want to defame his honour because his company was granted the Hadhunmathi project.
Meanwhile, according to Islam, Gambling is a major sin which Allah has forbidden in the Quran, and He mentions the prohibition on it alongside the prohibition of alcohol and described it as an abomination from the handiwork of Satan.
