Adalath Party vows to make all efforts to oust MDP Govt

Adalath Party has vowed that it will not spare any efforts to oust the MDP Government from power. In the VTV special programme Fas Manzaru joined by Adalath Party President Sheikh Imran Abdulla and Deputy President of the party's Scholar Committee Sheikh Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed expressed their grave concern about the functioning of the Government contrary to the hopes of the party and the Maldivian people to embrace meaningful reform and good governance. They said Adalath Party joined MDP in the 2008 Presidential election to end the 30 year rule of President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's rule in the hope of embracing a worthy democratic rule in the country.

Adalath Party which has terminated its coalition with ruling MDP Government last month said it is frustrating that President Mohamed Nasheed's Government is much worse than former President Gayoom's 30 year old Government in every aspect. That is why Adalath Party has left MDP Coalition and is determined to make every effort to end President Nasheed's rule. " We are prepared to join any party and do all what we can do to achieve this task. We are very disappointed that MDP Government has failed to honour its promises and perform in a manner worthy of the lofty expectations of the people and the ideals of the heard earned democracy." Sheikh Imran said.

Speaking about Dr. Abdul Majeed Abdul Bari, Adalath said the party is saddened by the move taken by Dr. Majeed by becoming Islamic Minister again after resigning from the post. By doing so Dr. Majeed  has challenged the call of the Party to leave the MDP Government. When asked about Majlis approval for Dr. Majeed, they referred to the Islamic proverb which says that you cannot be bitten twice from the same hole. Expressing their hope that Dr. Majeed will not receive Majlis approval Adalath said they respect Dr. Majeed but his action is not what they expected from a person of his character and learning.
