Adalath Party has no secret deals with MDP Govt; Imran

Male’: Adalath Party has denied that it has a secret deal with the MDP Government. President of the party Sheikh Imran Abdulla said so referring to speculations the Adalath Party and Government have a secret deal to enable Adalath Party to get more ministerial posts in the Government as well as Government making other amends to appease the Islamic party which broke away from the MDP coalition last month., The story also goes that this deal was being made with the reappointment of Dr. Abdul Majeed Abdul Bari as the Islamic Minister just 6 days after he resigned from the post.

Imran said Adalath Party will never succumb to such deals and it will only run the party according to the wishes of the people and in the the interest of the people and country. Adalat said its objectives and principles are strong and steadfast that the party will not bow down to bribery and corruption. This was their principle standing which they have never compromised any time.

Adalath Party has expressed their unhappiness about Dr. Majeed going back to the cabinet against the call of the party. Adalath have broken their coalition with the Government after the Government's failure to honour its promises to the party, they said.  Adalath Party vigorously campaigned to win the Presidential election in 2008 to President Nasheed.

Dr. Majeed has defended his decision to accept the post of Minister saying more than 90 per cent of those who he consulted the matter supported him to take the post. The President has praised Dr. Majeed for his sagacity and dedicated services. However his opponents including Adalath has said they never imagined Dr. Majeed would do such a thing which is unbecoming of his previously seen character and discipline.
