Yamin’s involvement in illegal trade will
be established if investigated professionally- Mustafa
Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Mustafa has said if the investigation of the case of the money laundering racket worth of US $800 million is done more professionally, involvement of both Mulaku MP Abdullah Yamin in this illegal trade will be established.
Speaking to Miadhu Daily, MP Mustafa said that if Yamin is asked regarding the case he would confess that the US $800 million worth oil trade was an illegal trade. He said that he would acknowledge the fact that it would be illegal to establish trade deals with countries like Burma.
Mustafa said that he would not stop voicing out against the involvement of Yamin and his half brother, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom until they confess that this illegal trade was carried out under their directives.
Meanwhile, Mulaku MP and former Chairman of the State Trading Organisation (STO) Yamin, stated that there is no reason to worry over the resolution proposed to Peoples’ Majlis by Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Mustafa regarding the case of the US $800 million money laundering racket which is being investigated by the National Security Committee of the Majlis.
Despite these allegations, Former President Gayoom and Yamin have been denying any involvement in the international money laundering racket worth of $800 million. Replying to these allegations Yamin said that STO Singapore and Mocum Trading did make a joint venture company. He said that the company was registered under the permission granted by STO’s director‘s board. However, he said that he does not know exactly the country the company is registered at.
