Dictator Gayyoom urges DRP members to remain steadfast in the party
Founding Leader of the main opposition Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) and former President of Maldives, Dictator Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom has urged the members of DRP to remain steadfast in the party.
In a press statement released yesterday, in view of the reports in the media that some members of DRP are leaving the party, DRP Founding Leader Gayyoom said that he appeals all members to remain steadfast and not leave the party.
“As it is known, this is a time that our nation is facing many challengers. And this is a time that some people from our nation is striving hard to introduce other faiths and religions to our country,” Gayyoom said.
Gayyoom said that all members should take heed and give preference to their religion, the nation and the best interest of the people.
Gayyoom also noted that the nation is now facing many economic challenges which led to the soaring prices of commodities and services. He said that the people are now in a state of poverty and grief. He urged DRP members to stay focused and united in delivering services to the country and the people.
