Did Prince William choose Maldives as his honeymoon destination?

Some websites made reports that Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton had considered Maldives for their honeymoon destination.

Although some envious websites have used defamatory remarks on Maldives as being the “sinking nation”, if the rumours are true: if Prince William and Kate Middleton really chose Maldives for their honeymoon, it will be a good achievement for the country.

Even if it might not be true, the rumours will further raise the popularity of Maldives and it is possible that Maldives will be among the considerable hotspots for other such Royal Honeymoons.

No media has revealed the exact location that the future King and Queen of England had chosen for their honeymoon. However, the international media alludes Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius among the favourites of Prince William.

Meanwhile, the government officially invited Prince William and Kate Middleton to the archipelago to witness first-hand the reason why the Maldives was declared the Best Honeymoon Destination of 2010 at the World Travel Awards.

Travel News Maldives cited a State Minister saying, “everybody here is very excited at the possibility of a royal visit, and our tourism industry would come under a positive light in the world’s eye. The industry will enjoy the publicity that comes along with such an important visit.”

With reopening of Coco Palm Kuda Hithi Resort, which will be aimed for royal families and merchants, it is believed this will proliferate such opportunities.
