DRP rally tonight will focus on making
the gov’t accountable- Rozaina
Main opposition Dhivehi
Rayyithunge Party (DRP) has announced that their rally tonight will be focusing
on making the government accountable.
Speaking to the media
regarding tonight’s public rally, DRP council member Rozaina Adam said that all
people who have the common goal of taking the government to account are invited
to participate in tonight’s rally.
Rozaina noted that
tonight’s rally will be the first official rally to be held under DRP’s
coalition with Dhivehi Qaumee Party (DQP).
“This is the first meeting
we are having under our coalition with Qaumee Party. This rally is held jointly
to take the current regime to account. For some time we have strayed away from
this goal because of some members plotting to split the party with their
slanders and war of words. Therefore, this rally will be a new beginning in
DRP’s campaign to take the government to account,” DRP Parliamentary Group
member Rozaina Adam said.
Furthermore, Rozaina said
that tonight the speakers will mainly shed light on the current events regarding
the difficulties that the local councils are facing and on the escalating rate
of gang violence in the society. In addition to this she said that the rally
will also highlight on the shortage of dollars in the country.
