Phase 2 of 1,500 housing units development by CMEC signed
The signing ceremony for development of one
thousand five hundred housing units development in Maldives was held yesterday
morning at Dharubaaruge. This is the phase 2 of the project which is funded
through Government to Government finance facilitated by the Government of China.
On behalf of the Maldives Government Minister of Housing and Environment Mohamed
Aslam singed the agreement and Vice president of China National Machinery and
Equipment Import and Export Corporation (CMEC) Mr. Li Chaoyang signed the
agreement on behalf of CMEC.
After the signing, statements were given by the Minister of Housing and
Environment Hon. Mohamed Aslam and Mr. Li Chaoyang, Vice President of CEMC.
Speaking at the ceremony Minister Mohamed Aslam thanked the Chinese Government
for the support extended to the Government of Maldives in delivery of the
housing pledge, and noted the commitment shown by CMEC in development of the
first phase and reaching the second phase.
