Maldives can be developed only by annulling foreign expat quota-Abdul Ghafoor
Kulhudhufushi Uthuru MP, Abdul Ghafoor has said that Maldives can only be developed and thrived by annulling the quota for bringing foreign expatriates and by implementing good management of the foreign expatriates entering the country.
Speaking at yesterday’s sitting of the Peoples’ Majlis, Kulhudhufushi MP Abdul Ghafoor said that the developed countries of the world thrive their country by having good management of the foreign laboures and by opening opportunities for them to work in the country. He said that if the government wants to develop Maldives, the foreign labourers should be given the working opportunities.
Abdul Ghafoor said that it is not rational to limit the quota for only 1 labourer per house. He said that there will be many people who are in need of more than one labourer. He said that these people should be given their right to bring more labourers.
Abdul Ghafoor also said that in some countries foreign expatriates are three times more than the population but no problem arises in those countries because of good management. He said that Maldives should implement good management of foreign expatriates.
