Protests infront of Muleeage were held to sweep 800m US$ scandal under the rug- Abdullah Abdurraheem MP

Maafannu Hulhangu MP and parliamentary group member of the main opposition Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), Abdullah Abdurraheem has said that the faction of DRP founding leader Dictator Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, after being silent on the issues regarding the resolution dispute between Thulusdhoo and Funadhoo, tried to stage protests in front of President’s Official House Muleeage when the Supreme Court ruled in agreement with DRP’s position in the issue, to sweep Gayoom’s alleged involvement in the international money laundering racket worth up to US$800 million under the rug.

Speaking at RajjeTV, last night, Abdullah Abdurraheem said that when protestors are injured during the protests of Gayoom’s faction, they try to injure them further instead of giving the injured medical aid. He said that Gayoom’s faction try to further injure the wounded by pressing the wounds on TV cameras rather than giving quick medical aid.

Maafannu Hulhangu MP said that Gayoom should take the full responsibility of all the turmoil and strife within DRP.

Abdullah Abdurraheem said that he believes that the attack on DRP Deputy Leader, Ibrahim Shareef (Mavota) in front of DRP Office was masterminded by DRP founding leader Gayoom who sent a group of thugs as his mercenaries.

Furthermore, criticizing DRP founding leader Gayoom, Abdurraheem said that Gayoom is alone in this struggle and that Thasmeen has the support of the people, the members of DRP and most of the opposition parties.
