Gov’t only bringing Brits to high positions is questionable- Gasim

Leader of Jumhooree Party, Gasim Ibrahim has said that it is questionable that only British people are brought to the country by the government for high ranking positions of the government.

Gasim said that the British people are appointed for high ranking posts of IGMH, Bank of Maldives, Maldives Tourism Promotion Board. Mamigili MP Gasim Ibrahim said that this unusual loyalty to Britain is of concern and that it is dubious.

Gasim asked the government whether there are no qualified people elsewhere in the world other than Britain for these posts.

Finance Minister of the former regime and former Home Minister of the present government, Gasim Ibrahim said that it would have been cost effective and better if qualified people are brought from our neighbouring India, Singapore of Bangkok for instance for the high ranking posts in IGMH. He said that these three countries have qualified hospitals with capable and qualified people.
