Committees works are kept on pause to hinder govt from reducing prices of commodities- Moosa Manik

Interim Chairperson of the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Moosa Manik has said that the opposition is trying not to hand over the Parliamentary Committees to MDP even when the party has won the majority in the Peoples’ Majlis because they want to hinder the government from reducing the soaring prices of commodities and services.

MDP earlier also said that the party might have to consider taking action if the works of the committees are kept on pause.

Speaking at the press conference by the Parliamentary Group of MDP, the Parliamentary Group leader, Ibrahim Solih said that the committees still remain unreconstructed with the changes in the political parties representing the MPs.

He said that the issue remains unresolved even though the Charter of Parliamentary Committees state that the committees should be reconstructed in this circumstances.
