Z-Faction is replicating the actions of the gov’t- Azim

Medhu Henveiru MP, Ali Azim has said that the faction of the Honorary Leader of the main opposition Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, also known as Z-Faction, is only replication the actions of the current government in rejecting the decisions of the independent bodies.

Azim said that although the current government claims to be the vanguards of democratic rule, the government blatantly disregards the decisions of the courts of law and independent bodies. He said that the faction of Gayyoom has now followed suit in this regard in rejecting the verdicts of the courts of law and independent bodies.

Azim said that these actions of the faction show that their leaders have no political weight. He said that their statements are mere empty political rhetoric based on conjecture. He also added that such a people cannot bring rectification to the country.

In view of the Z-faction’s criticism of the decision of Anti Corruption Commission on the allegations made by the dismissed DRP Deputy Leader Umar Naseer on Speaker of the Peoples’ Majlis, Abdullah Shahid and DRP Leader Ahmed Thasmeen Ali that they took bribes from GMR Infrastructure, Azim said that this shows that the faction is replicating the behavior of the government which contravenes democratic fundamentals.
