DRP will follow the pulse of the people in 2013 elections- Thasmeen


Ahmed Thasmeen Ali, leader of main opposition Divehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) has said that his party charters its course to the Presidential Election of 2013 following the pulse of the people.

Thasmeen said that DRP understand the needs and hopes of the people which makes DRP a party of the people, working for the people. He said that while the party charters its course to the presidential election of 2013 DRP fully understand the situation and the feelings of the people of the country. Also he said that there are some political issues that we all have to except.      

Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Thasmeen said that DRP would begin a special program to visit various islands of the country in order to get firsthand knowledge of the needs of the people in order to make plans for a manifesto for the upcoming 2013 presidential elections. Thasmeen said that it might be a difficult thing but still he will visit the islands and will meet the people to know their current situation.

Thasmeen said that DRP’s vision is to work together in a peaceful and friendly environment. He said that therefore his party would willingly welcome capable new members into party leadership. He said that his party’s vision also include to open opportunities for academically proficient individuals to its front line in order to enhance efforts to make the Maldives a better country.

Thasmeen said that the main aim and the main principle of DRP are to bring the change that the people want. Therefore he said that while working he do believe that he have to face to lot of difficulties and problems. Also he said that he and his party have that capacity to face those difficulties and the problems and his party could bring the change the people want.
