People never forgives politicians- President

President Mohamed Nasheed has said that politicians should be fully aware of their responsibilities and the sacrifices that they may need to make.

Speaking at the inauguration for the “National Workshop on Decentralization of Health Care Services Based on Primary Healthcare”, the President said that politicians should maintain higher ethical standards and said that they are high authority figures, thus if they make a mistake it is taken more seriously than if the same mistake is made by another person. He said that one mistake and the people will never forgive the politicians.

In his introductory remarks at the workshop, President Nasheed said that the key objective of decentralization would be to ensure economic and social development and availability of adequate healthcare for the people of the Maldives. He said that the objectives also include establishing and maintaining quality healthcare facilities in all regions of the Maldives, in a sustainable manner.

Meanwhile, the Workshop was held at Bandos Island Resort and Spa Wednesday and was attended by members of the Ministry of Health and Family, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation(W.H.O).
