The President of the Adhaalath Party, Imran Abdullah has said that the party is ready even to turn the systems upside down, to bring back the lost unity of the people.
President of the Adhaalath Party, Imran said this speaking at the closing ceremony of the second National Assembly of the party.
Imran said that the social fabric of the country has now been torn to pieces, the social unity is now lost and that hatred and rancor between individuals is rampant in the society.
“If the social unity of the Maldives is lost as a result of the current dirty political system then I assure you that we will work to turn the system upside down,” he said.
The party president Imran said that the Adhaalath Party was registered as a political party in August 2005, when political parties were allowed to operate for the first time in the Maldives. He said that the in the second round of the presidential elections in 2008, the party joined with the current ruling party in a coalition of opposition parties in the runoff elections that ousted the former regime from power.
Imran noted that Adhaalath Party is the only party now remaining in the coalition with the ruling party. He said however that the party remains in the coalition for the people as long as the people want.
“If things are go out of control, when the time expires, we will break away from the coalition. We will work for the people, for the country, for rectification of the country,” he said.
