Moosa Manik considers meeting Gayyoom to know why ZDRP MPs are disrupting Majlis sitting
The Interim Chairperson of the ruling party, Moosa Manik (Reeko) has said that he considers meeting the Honorary Leader of the main opposition Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) to know the motive behind the consecutive disruption of the sitting of the Peoples’ Majlis by the MPs of his faction.
Speaking to the media, Hulhuhenveiru MP, Moosa Manik said that the sittings of the Majlis are being disrupted by MPs of the Z-DRP, breakaway faction of opposition Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) that follows the former President Gayoom.
“Therefore, I would like to meet Gayyoom and know the reason and the motive behind these actions of his followers in the Majlis,” he said.
Furthermore, Moosa Manik said he would like to ask Gayyoom if the Majlis sittings are being disrupted by his followers to prevent some bills related to him from being passed and ratified as laws.
Meanwhile, members of Parliament who belong to Zaeem-DRP (Z-DRP) have promised to disrupt future sittings of the Majlis in protest over the legality of Majlis sitting on last Tuesday that revised composition of Parliament committees.
