Dr. Zulfa’s visit to Taj Exotica Resort & Spa


The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture for Maldives, Dr. Mariyam Zulfa graced the award winning Taj Exotica Resort & Spa on Friday, January 7, 2011. Dr. Zulfa was welcomed at the resort by the General Manager, Mr. Girish Sehgal with  traditional Maldivian welcome.

During the visit Dr. Zulfa went around the island to see the villas and the facilities offered by the resort that has recently won 11 International awards & recognitions including being awarded the ‘Best Leading Hotel of the World,  for  Commitment to Quality & Excellence in 2009’ by Leading Hotels of the World. She also paid a visit to the Jiva Grande Spa, one of the only two spas in Maldives which are a member of ‘Leading Spas of the World’. During the show around Dr. Zulfa also observed the uniqueness of the lagoon which is one of the largest in whole of Maldives and the way the island has been preserved with the natural exquisiteness of the protected species of Jade trees adding to the beauty of the island. She also tasted some of the award winning offerings of food and beverage that were specially prepared only for her consumption by the talented culinary team. The Minister also met some of the staff and spoke to them of their experience of working with the Taj Group of Hotels. Dr. Zulfa also discussed the Taj Corporate Training Programs like ‘Speed’ and ‘Speed Plus’ which give the talented local associates an opportunity to catapult to Supervisory and Management levels through extensive classroom and practical training both in the resort and at different Taj property.

Dr. Zulfa planted a coconut tree as a symbol of a new beginning and commitment to environment. She left the resort relaxed and wanting to return to experience the Exotica hospitality where lazy indulgence meets island chic.
