Adaaran Resorts Recognizes Continuous

Adaaran Resorts recently conducted a management training program for its Directors and Senior Managers which concluded with the award ceremony on 30th January 2011.
This program, which is commonly known as the MTP, is a 64-hour study course, introduced by the Nippon Keidanren International Corporation Centre, NKICC of Japan in the 1980's and more recently The Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS). Within the last 24 years, this course has been improved over 10 times to accommodate the latest trends in business.
The course consists of case studies and reading material, the programme includes group discussions, management games, role plays, presentations and written examinations. Some popular concepts like Kaizan, eliminating 3 MU’s (eliminating wastage, inconsistency and unreasonableness). And ‘Nemawashi’ a famous Japanese networking technique are also taught for the Managers to be aware with the current trends and knowledge to ensure that all colleagues can apply the latest skills while delivering on our core values and guiding principles.
Twenty four members of the top management team of Adaaran Resorts completed the MTP program successfully.
Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Dr Mariyam Zulfa was the Guest of Honor distributed the certificates.
Addressing the gathering the Minister paid her appreciation for the commitment of ADAARAN towards the HR Development in Hospitality Sector in the Maldives.
She was overwhelmed by the MTP content and she would wish to see similar type of programs conducted in other resorts.
Aitken Spence is one of the pioneers running branded hotels and it is good to see the expertise of Sri Lanka is shared with the Maldivian Professionals in the industry,
She also said the commitment of Adaaran to build young Maldivian professional to work in the Hospitality industry is well noted by the government.
Rohan Pandithakorralage, Director/Chief Human Resources Officer Aitken Spence Group Ltd was the course leader who has undergone this training in Japan and who is licensed to train others in this field. He has trained over 1191 executives in Aitken Spence Plc and also has trained over 497 executives in other companies and universities in Sri Lanka.
Speaking after the function, Upul Peiris, the Chief Operating Officer of Adaaran Maldives Sector commented about the importance of training and development without which the sustainability of the business not viable and it is our prime duty to train & develop the Maldivians to take up future challenges in the company with a changing and dynamic environment.
He also emphasized that during the year he is determined to implement the 5S Technique – the Japanese method of delivering high quality standard which promotes efficiency and the productivity.
Also he emphasized on the importance of environmental management and introducing the systems to all resorts and Adaaran’s willingness to share the knowledge and techniques with the Maldivian community which will also be a CSR project which will enhance the Tourism Product in Maldives.
