Ibrahim Nasir International Airport’s 180-day development initiative shows near completion


In order for the The Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to reach the realm of, the preferred islandairport in the world GMR Group’s Airport Experts took over the reins in June 2010 to build, operate,modernize and expand the airport in Hulhule. One of the many issues to rectify was to accommodatethe capacities particularly in the peak traffic periods. The airport’s next stage will be focused on establishing minimum service levels to facilitate the 180-daydevelopment programme. Medium-term programmes will be spread over a two to three year periodand will focus on investment and infrastructure development. GMIAL seen as a key player in the processdevelopment mechanisms, has been active for some time already, and now have completed processesto ease the traffic flow.
