Adaaran celebrates World Health Day with beach cleaning campaign

Further expanding its commitment to environmental responsibility, Adaaran Meedhupparu embraced World Health Day with an entire day of beach cleaning campaign designed with sustainability in mind.

Meedhupparu staff joined hands of Raa Meedhu for a cleaning campaign in order to remove all dirt which was accumulated over a period of time in the entire beach area.  

Meedhu islanders and the authorities’ were happy for this gesture of goodwill which also enhanced the relationship with the in habitants.

Speaking to Miadhu Daily the Chief Operating Officer, Upul Peiris said, “As we grow in business we strongly believe in our social responsibility.”

“On social development we have provided jobs over 100 out of the 263 staffs and we outsource significant amount of our day to day maintenance work to the medhu contractors. We do buy fish and other products from Meedhu and surrounding islands which will enable indirect employment opportunities,” he said.
