Ceremony to mark 78th Anniversary of Maldives Police Service:
If cooperated we will prevent gang violence before the end of this year: Commissioner


Commissioner of Police (CP) Ahmed Faseeh has said that if the Maldives Police Service is given enough cooperation from all concerned parties, Maldives Police Service will prevent and put an end to assaults, battery, murder, gang related violence and other organized crime on a nationwide magnitude by the end of this year.

CP Faseeh said that while speaking at the ceremony held at Dharubaaruge last night to mark the 78th anniversary of Maldives Police Service.

Faseeh said that the goal is to combine the resources and expertise to gain a full understanding of gang activity and to better understand what all concerned authorities must do, together, to put them out of business. He said that the Police will continue to need the support of all concerned parties to meet the full responsibilities of their mission to eradicate crime.

Addressing the ceremony officiated by President Mohamed Nasheed, Faseeh said that Police work around-the-clock, in all kinds of circumstances, to protect and serve the people of Maldives and to preserve law and order.

With the anniversary observance, CP Faseeh highlighted on the successes of the Police since his appointment as the Commissioner of Police.

Faseeh said that Maldives Police Service look forward to meeting the challenges ahead with the diligent determination that has been at the core of the Service since its inception.

He said that he looks forward to working with the Maldives Police Service during his tenure as Commissioner of Police to improve the Maldives Police Service and strengthen its ability to keep the nation safe.
