Councilors who score good will be sent abroad for further education- Gasim
Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader and the founder of Villa Foundation, Gasim Ibrahim has said he has been thinking of giving scholarships to study abroad for those councilors who score good in the councilors awareness workshops organised by JP.
Gasim said this concluding the awareness program organised for Atoll and Island Councillors, which was held at Villa College hall yesterday night.
Gasim said that the development of the country lies in creating awareness among those who implement the development of the nation with regards to the law and constitution.
He said that the people elected the Councilors to represent their interests and concerns. He added that thus they are involved in considering and striving for the rights of the people, and use their position for the development of their respected councils.
JP leader highlighted that he has been spending for the education of the youth of the nation since it is education of its youth is the foundation for the development of the country.
Gasim said that the awareness program is free from any undue political influence and is not organised to achieve any political agenda.
He said that he believes that the program will improve the Councilors’ skills in the spheres of serving the people, service provision and implementing the constitution. He also said that he hopes that the final outcome of the awareness program will be manifested in their work.
