No matter what challenges lie against me, I will not step back- Thasmeen 

Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali has assured that he is ready to compete defeat all probles and attacks which Former President Dictator Gayoom is creating to take over DRP.

Leader of the main opposition party Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP), Ahmed Thasmeen Ali has said that the no matter what challenges lie against the struggle of DRP and Dhivehi Qaumee Party (DQP) coalition to take the government to account, whether the challenges are from within the party or from the government, he will not step back.

Speaking at the first rally of DRP-DQP coalition held at Kalaafanu School yesterday night, DRP Leader Ahmed Thasmeen Ali criticized the government of President Mohamed Nasheed and said that the people have become increasingly frustrated and disillusioned with his regime.

Thasmeen said that the people are now turning to the opposition with a desperate cry for help, since the government has failed miserably. He said that the people are in a sad state with soaring prices, an ailing health care system, a flagging economy, and rife corruption.

Thasmeen reiterated that the people have given the present government opportunity to prove their sincerity. He said that however, the government gave the people nothing but deceptions and mirages.

Thasmeen said that the DRP-DQP coalition will not step back from holding the government accountable at a time when the people are fast losing faith in a government which has lost credibility in every aspect of its administration since coming to power.

Furthermore, DRP Leader also highlighted on the issue of escalating gang violence and said that that if the problem of gang violence is not dealt with, the people will live in instability and the nation will be unstable.
