Abu Dhabi Master Developer to Deliver
3500 Extra Accommodation Units by 2012
Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC),
the master developer of cultural, residential, and tourism destinations in Abu
Dhabi, announced that it's set to deliver over 1,800 hotel rooms by 2012 along
with its joint venture partners, as well as over 1,700 residential units.
The announcement coincides with the launch of a comprehensive update on TDIC's
portfolio of announced developments, including Saadiyat Island and Desert
Islands - all reflecting strategic importance to the 2030 Economic Vision. TDIC
currently has over 55 projects, worth over $33bn, planned for completion by 2020
across the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

schedule, TDIC plays a significant role in the development of Abu Dhabi as an
international tourism and business destination of choice," said His Excellency
Mubarak Al Muhairi, Managing Director of TDIC.
"The past two years have seen the successful launch of many of our projects and
we look forward to announcing the opening of many more of our developments this
year, as well as unveiling brand new projects. We also continue to receive wide
support from our partners and investors in the private sector through newly
created joint venture partnerships, which will help us make significant advances
across all our portfolios."
The range of TDIC's project portfolio spans redevelopment of urban landmark
districts, new-build mixed-use complexes, downtown business and leisure resorts,
and luxurious desert resorts. Every TDIC project reflects the company's core
values of cultural and environmental preservation as well as socio-economic
promotion.
By 2012, TDIC will have delivered over 3000 hotels rooms hence supporting Abu
Dhabi Tourism Authority's (ADTA) aim to attract 2.3 million guests to Abu Dhabi
by the same date. This includes the 1200 delivered in 2009 and the 1800 to be
delivered in 2010 and 2011.
Developments include:
Saadiyat Island is TDIC's flagship development located and home to the Saadiyat
Island Cultural District where the Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi are all on schedule to open by 2013.
Eastern Mangroves will be an integrated resort, marina, retail and residential
destination that has been sensitively designed to reflect its mangrove setting
TDIC continues to manage the redevelopment ofAl Bateen Wharf, which is set to
become a signature waterfront destination. Built to reflect the area's
long-standing marine traditions.
Rocco Forte Hotel is a joint venture between TDIC and Al Farida Investments
Company LLC. The striking wave-shaped Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi (formerly
known as Bridgeway Abu Dhabi), will be a mixed use five-star hotel and
commercial development
TDIC is also developing a brand new beach resort, Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel,
the main 45-storey building will have a unique 45-degree architectural twist,
providing a new coastal landmark on Abu Dhabi's Corniche as well as a luxurious
retreat for guests, right in the heart of the city.
ADTA/TDIC Headquarters will become an important landmark for Abu Dhabi and a
platform to showcase architectural design excellence.
Abu Dhabi Golf Resort Fully-owned by TDIC and managed by Troon Golf, the Abu
Dhabi Golf Club is one of the most luxurious golf courses in the Arabian Gulf
and is situated just 15 minutes from the heart of Abu Dhabi.
Hili Fun City, Al Ain In Al Ain, TDIC has been appointed to redevelop and
upgrade the popular amusement park.
